Proficiency Testing and Interlaboratory Comparisons

DA continued during the period March – December 2009 development and operation of Proficiency Testing for accredited testing laboratories and other who have applied for accreditation in order to evaluate their performance.

Organization of PT by DA is based on Law 9824, date 1.11.2007, clause 6 point (e) that gives the right to DA to organize activities of PT.

DA has established its policy about participation of testing and calibration laboratories in Interlaboratories Comparisons and Proficiency Testing. DA’s policy is in accord with EA Policy 2/10 “Policy for Participation in National and International Proficiency Testing Activities”

DA created and trained its human resources for organization of proficiency testing among testing laboratories that carried out different tests. These comparisisons will developed in accordance with requirements of ISO Guide 43 and all other guidance’s of EA and ILAC for organization of comparisons and evaluation of results.

Due to the fact that the bigest number of laboratories which has applied to being accredited are testing laboratories in construction field it is worked for organziation of proficiency testing in field of tetsing of cement, steel, concrete . There identified the laboratories which will take part in this scheme, number of analyses, testing methods as well as there is developed a working plan for organziation of this scheme. The scheme was organized during February – November 2009. The final report was conducted in December 2009. The Final report for 3 test was distributed to all participants on December 2009. About 19 laboratories accredited and non accredited were included in this program .

This event is not first experience of DA and accredited laboratories. Besides individual participation of laboratories in different schemes, DA has organized participation of eight different laboratories in interlaboratories comparison occurred in frame of CARDS 2006 Project. With participation of homologue laboratories from region. General impression about participation was – successfully. Four of participants were accredited laboratories others four were applicants on accreditation. One of them was at the position of pilot laboratory in order to dispatch of know ledges and in formations over organization of interlaboratories comparison at countries where are absent such Institutions.

General Directorate of Accreditation will continue in future on organization of PT . The calendar relation the program of PT will be published in the end of January.

Also DA will publish in its website, in formations about PT and ILC that are realized by European and International Organizations
