The Albanian Accreditation Directorate (DA) is recognized by the Albanian Government as the single National Accreditation Body to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organizations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.

DA is public authority under the Minister of Economy Trade and Energy and exercises its activity pursuant to Law No. 9824 Date. 1.11.2007 - “On Accreditation of conformity assessment bodies in Republic of Albania”.

DA operates a management system in line with the requirements of S SH ISO/IEC 17011 (Conformity Assessment General Requirements for accreditation conformity assessment bodies).

Also DA has the task to provide advice to State Administration in matters concerning accreditation and other assessments and approvals of competence for carrying out conformity assessment procedures and maintaining, update and gives the information on the status of accreditation of the accredited bodies.

DA representing of Republic of Albania at International organizations on the accreditation area and Cooperation with national accreditation bodies in other countries in order to achieve membership in regional or international mutual recognition agreements or to achieve bilateral agreements.
